“The Ring” Sequel Novel in the Works

After more than a decade, critically acclaimed horror novelist Koji Suzuki will write a new Ring novel based on his famed lead character, Sadako entitled, "S". This was revealed in a talk in Moscow.

According to Suzuki, the story goes somewhat like "what if Sadako were to emerge from computer screens, what would happen?"

The new novel is set in 2014, after the events of Suzuki’s first Ring novel and its sequel Rasen (Spiral). In the new novel, her curse spreads through cloud computing on the Internet to far-flung locations. Previously, the malevolent spirit Sadako traveled from one victim to another via videotape.

The release date of the new Ring novel is still unknown as of the moment.

The Asahi Shimbun paper is streaming a short video of Suzuki speaking at Moscow.
